Sports schedules begin to shape up

Davenport and Reardan scheduled for Week 1 matchup

DAVENPORT—Sports schedules are still a work in progress, but the calendar for football, volleyball and girl’s soccer in Davenport, Odessa and Reardan is starting to shape up.

Tentative schedules show that Davenport will host Reardan in Week 1 of the football season. The Gorillas will be trying to build off last season’s playoff berth, while the Screaming Eagles will look for a rivalry win in Matt Clouse’s head coaching debut.

If the tentative schedule holds, Davenport football will have home games against Liberty Sept. 30, Colfax Oct. 14 and Northwest Christian (Colbert) Oct. 21. Road games will be at Oroville Sept. 9, Asotin Sept. 16, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague Sept. 23 and Chewelah Oct. 28.


A bye is on the schedule for many NE2B teams, as Kettle Falls doesn’t yet know whether it will field a varsity football team this year.

Davenport volleyball is scheduled to host a tournament Sept. 3, with Wilbur-Creston, Mary Walker, Selkirk, Medical Lake, Cusick, Chewelah, Odessa, LRS and Northport all scheduled to participate.

Home matches on the tentative volleyball schedule include NWC Sept. 20, Chesterton Academy Sept. 29, Medical Lake Oct. 1, Asotin Oct. 6, St. George’s Oct. 13, Chewelah Oct. 20 and Liberty Oct. 25.

Road matches scheduled include Kettle Falls Sept. 22, Colfax Sept. 27, Upper Columbia Academy Oct. 4, Reardan Oct. 11 and LRS Oct. 18.

Davenport soccer is tentatively scheduled to start at Medical Lake Sept. 6. Home matches scheduled included Mead Sept. 12, Tonasket, Sept. 17, UCA Sept. 20, SGS Sept. 22, Brewster Oct. 1, Reardan Oct. 4, NWC Oct. 13 and Kettle Falls Oct. 18.

Road games scheduled include Brewster Sept. 24, NWC Sept. 27, Kettle Falls Sept. 29, Mead Oct. 8, SGS Oct. 11, Reardan Oct. 20 and UCA Oct. 25.

After the rivalry matchup at Davenport, Reardan football is scheduled to make its home debut against NWC Sept. 9. Other home games scheduled include Chewelah Sept. 16, LRS Oct. 14 and Liberty Oct. 21.

Road games on the tentative schedule include Colfax Sept. 30, Priest River Sept. 30 and Asotin Oct. 7.

Reardan volleyball is scheduled to open at Garfield-Palouse Sept. 6. The home opener is scheduled for Sept. 10 against Northport. Other home matches include SGS Sept. 22, LRS Sept. 27, Kettle Falls Oct. 4, Davenport Oct. 11, Asotin Oct. 18 and Riverside Oct. 22.

Road matches scheduled include Almira-Coulee-Hartline Sept. 8, the Yakima Sundome Festival Sept. 16, Colfax Sept. 20, the Quincy Invitational Sept. 24, NWC Sept. 29, Liberty Oct. 6, Medical Lake Oct. 8, Chewelah Oct. 13, Tonasket Oct. 15 and UCA Oct. 25.

Reardan soccer, which also has a new head coach in Heaven Berarducci and is looking for a return to the state playoffs, is scheduled to kick off its season at Colville Sept. 6. The home opener is scheduled against Connell Sept. 15.

Other home games on the schedule include SGS Sept. 27, NWC Sept. 29, Medical Lake Oct. 1, UCA Oct. 11, Davenport Oct. 20, Tonasket Oct. 22 and Kettle Falls Oct. 25.

Road games on the schedule include Brewster Sept. 17, UCA Sept. 22, Davenport Oct. 4, Kettle Falls Oct. 6, SGS Oct. 13, Okanogan Oct. 15 and NWC Oct. 18.

Odessa football is scheduled to begin its quest to return to 1B state championship contention with a non-league matchup versus Liberty Bell Sept. 2. The Sausage Bowl will be against Mary Walker Sept. 16.

Other home games scheduled include Wellpinit Sept. 30, Republic Oct. 14 and ACH Oct. 21. Only two road games are scheduled: Wilbur-Creston Sept. 22 and Cusick Sept. 7.

Odessa volleyball is scheduled to open its season at the Davenport tournament Sept. 3. Home matches on the tentative schedule include Waterville/Mansfield Sept. 20, ACH Sept. 22, Valley Christian/Chesterton Academy Sept. 24, W-C Oct. 4, St. John/Endicott/LaCrosse Oct. 8, Oakesalde Oct. 14, Mary Walker Oct. 18 and Wellpinit Oct. 29.

Road matches on the tentative schedule include LRS Sept. 6, a return to Ritzville for the Bronco Invite Sept. 10, Valley Christian Sept. 13, Mary Walker/Wellpinit Oct. 1, ACH Oct. 20, W-C Oct. 22 and Chesterton Academy Oct. 25.

All developing schedules are tentative and subject to change.
