Jacoby hired as Davenport school safety officer

DAVENPORT – The school district here decided to hire from within for its school safety officer position that has been discussed in recent months. Mike Jacoby was selected to the position after a recommendation to the school board by a 16-person panel responsible for interviewing candidates.
Jacoby's hire was approved by the board Monday, Sept. 19. He began the position a day later.
"Everyone was overwhelmingly in favor of the direction we were headed," superintendent Chad Prewitt said.
