DAVENPORT—A local man was arrested last week on several charges in connection with an incident involving several local high schoolers being accused by this man of throwing eggs at his car. Jonathan Lee Villaro, 37, was charged with displaying a weapon with the threat to intimidate, harassment and first-degree robbery and booked into Lincoln County Jail Thursday, Oct. 27.

The alleged incident occurred on the 900 block of Merriam Street the night of Wednesday, Oct. 19, where a concerned mother told deputies that a man had pulled up to their house and accused a group of high schoolers of egging his car and that he would shoot them if this was the case, according to police reports.

One high schooler said a dark car pulled up to him, when a man got out of the car and threatened to beat him up, took eggs from him and told him to start running. The high schooler said he began to sprint from this man, later identified as Villaro, who began to throw eggs at him. A couple blocks later, the man allegedly pulled a gun from his pocket and told the high schooler to get on his knees, police reports state.

Davenport School District administration told police that a student told them Villaro matched descriptions provided by students involved, records state.

Four high schoolers visited the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office to help identify possible suspects in subsequent days, according to records.

Deputies then obtained a search warrant on Villaro’s home on the 800 block of Main Street. Villaro told police someone egged his car and he saw “kids” that denied doing so. He said he got out of his car and yelled at the youths, reports state.

He was then placed under arrest on the aforementioned charges after deputies explained the story they received from the high school students and the search warrant for the gun. Subsequently, Villaro put his hands up and said the gun was in his right pocket, police reports say.

The robbery charge stemmed from Villaro allegedly taking eggs from one student. The harrassment charge came from him threatening to “beat the s*** out of him” and the gun created the displaying charge, according to police reports.

Villaro was booked into county jail but was no longer on the jail roster as of press time.
