Marvin Dean Carstens was born Apr. 1, 1932 in Reardan, Wash. to Walter and Margaret Carstens. He passed away in Spokane, Wash. on Nov. 5, 2022.

Marvin grew up in Reardan and started a career as a fourth generation farmer on the original family homestead. He entered the military and served with the Army in the Korean War from 1953-1954. He was awarded two bronze stars for his service.

Marvin met Colleen Collins at the Springhill Grange Dance and they were married Mar. 6, 1955. They had four children and farmed together for 35 years. As a family they enjoyed man...
