Naomi "Julie" Jewel Hurlburt (Newton)

Apr. 30, 1932 – Nov. 21, 2022

Naomi "Julie" Jewel Hurlburt (Newton) went to be with the Lord on Nov. 21, 2022. She is finally at peace after a long illness of Dementia. She was born in Harrison, Idaho on April 30, 1932 to Edward Myron and Jewel Reta (Fosket) Newton. She was the last of 6 children. Her brothers Robert Myron, Garland Edward, Paul Rodney, Donald Dale, and sister Pearl Loretta were there in Heaven to greet her. Oh what a reunion that was.

Julie was married on Oct. 22, 1950 to her sweetheart Hugh (Pat) Arvid Hurlburt in Superior, Mont. She is survived by her husband Hugh (Pat), their daughter, Raelene Jewel, and son, Michael Kevin, Raelene's daughters, Nicole (Sam) Riane Lamanna and Brianna (Isaiah) Jewel Grant, and Michael's daughter Kirsten Lynn Hurlburt and son Landon Michael Hurlburt, and her great grandchildren Mackenzie, Jeremiah, Jerrell, Malachi, Kathryn, Vincent, Kaydence, Maisey, Cheyenne and Kaleb.

Julie loved her family and was always arranging family reunions. She was close to all her nieces and nephews and was known as Auntie Pug to some, and Aunt Julie to the rest. She loved animals, flowers, entertaining, traveling the US and her hummingbirds.

Julie was active in her church, Opportunity Christian, in the Valley. She held various positions and taught Vacation Bible School for several years. When they moved to Lincoln, she started attending Creston Christian Church where she was a Deacon and an Elder. Her church and God were very important to her.

She passed peacefully with her husband of 72 years holding her hand and her loved ones by her side.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am, Sat., Dec. 3, 2022, at Fairmount Memorial Park Cemetery, Spokane, WA. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1:00 PM, Dec. 3, 2022 at Creston Christian Church, Creston, WA.
