Zaugg wins district poster contest

Eighth-grader Tanner Zaugg, seen here with Visual Arts teacher Kathleen Posey, is this year's district winner for the Peace Poster contest.

DAVENPORT - -For the second year in a row the Davenport Lions Club Peace Poster Winner has become the district winner. Eighth-grader Tanner Zaugg's poster will now be entered in the next level of judging from nine other areas.

"Lead with Compassion" was this year's theme. Zaugg's poster showed his vision of peace and freedom, people helping each other with brotherhood, cooperation and love.

Zaugg expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to enter the contest. Visual arts teacher Kathleen Posey said she was very proud of the hard work Zaugg put into the project and that he will have the opportunity to advance in the judging. Zaugg will be awarded a prize at the annual Spring Conference.
