Lady Tigers win against county rivals

Odessa notches two wins after a two-loss streak

ODESSA-The Tigers came out of a two-game losing streak to defeat the Almira-Coulee-Hartline Warriors 48-31 Friday, Jan. 6.

Senior Grace Nelson returned after being out due to injury the first few weeks of the season. Her presence was immediately felt, as she sank a three-point shot while junior Melloney Diefe scored two points within the first three minutes of the first quarter. Odessa led by the end of the first quarter, 13-8.

Odessa scored 11 more points, while ACH only scored three more points by halftime to make the Tigers' advantage 24-11.

The Tigers immediately scored two points at the start of the third quarter. ACH countered with two points of its own.

But the Tigers were relentless and scored 11 more points, while the Warriors scored six more points as the third quarter ended with a 35-19 Odessa advantage.

Neilsen scored an impressive 21 points and had eight rebounds. Nelson scored nine points and had three rebounds.

Deife scored nine points, Schuh scored seven and senior Laela Hardung scored two.

The Tigers then won against the Wilbur-Creston-Keller Wildcats 43- 42 Saturday, Jan. 7.

Neilsen scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Schuh scored 13 points and had four rebounds.

Odessa will play Valley Christian at an away game at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13.
