Senior Center to receive Coronavirus relief funds

DAVENPORT- City council passed a resolution to grant $10,000 to the Senior Center under the American Rescue Plan Act at its meeting Wednesday, Jan 25.

On Jan. 12, the local Senior Center temporarily closed their doors because of the economy, cost of fuel, cost of food and past COVID restrictions. Senior Center president Carl Clark submitted a grant request to the city, which received federal funds to distribute to non-profit organizations affected by Covid-19.

These funds would allow the Senior Center to resume providing meals to senior citizens.
