Two Lincoln County bridges to be rebuilt

DAVENPORT — Heavy construction is coming to three bridges on gravel roads in Lincoln County.
Geib Bridge, located north of Wilbur, and Gerald Zellmer Bridge, south of Davenport, will be completely rebuilt and Blenz Bridge, south of Wilbur and Creston, will have its deck and girder system replaced.
However, construction is still a ways out for the federally funded projects.
“We hope to have them done by the end of construction season in 2026,” public works director Dave Orvis said.
Gerald Zellmer Bridge will cost $1,088,000 to rebuild, while Geib Bridge will cost $1,225,000 to rebu...
