Ellen Ida Fell

Aug. 10, 1944 – Mar. 5, 2023

Ellen Ida Fell, age 94, of Reardan, Wash. passed away Mar. 5 at Lincoln County Hospital. She was affectionally known as Mom, Grandma, G.G., Sis, Ellie, Shorty and Miss Ellen.

Ellen was born Aug. 10, 1928 in Sandpoint, ID to Joseph Dickinson and Eva Eliza McDougall, the oldest of 9 children. She spent her childhood on the family farm north of Reardan in the Crescent area and attended school in Reardan.

She married Eugene Fell Apr. 28, 1944 near Reardan. They raised 3 daughters while living in central Washington. After many years of moving around the PNW, they finally came full circle and settled back in Reardan. When Gene died in 2002, Ellen was a woman of strong faith and immersed herself in the community she loved. She was a longtime member of the Reardan Library Board, Planning Commission and United Methodist Church. She was involved with the local T.O.P.S. group, volunteered at the Food Bank and was a member of Country Samplers Quilt Club. Getting together at least once a month for lunch with her group of ladies known as the "Golden Girls" brought her much joy. Also attending the Spokane Symphony with Pastor Larry for many years was such a blessing to her.

As a farm girl at heart, she loved spending wheat harvest out on the farm with her kids west of Coulee City, cooking, cleaning and taking care of her "grand dogs". She had a sparkle in her eyes and a ready smile and was always up for any adventure.

She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Doris (Stan) Dormaier, and sisters, Joan Carrier and Deana Remmers, her three daughters, Sally (Leonard) Anicker, Sharon (David) Davis and Shirley Fell, three grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter, nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene, and siblings Joe Jr., Richard, Jeanette, George and Carl.

The family is profoundly grateful to the entire staff at Lincoln Hospital who took such good care of Miss Ellen during the last few months of her precious life.

She has asked that her ashes be spread over the wheatfield on the farm she loved. No services are planned so in lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in Ellen's name be sent to Lincoln Hospital Foundation, 10 Nicholls St. Davenport, WA 99122.

She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts!
