Mule Days set for this weekend

Parade begins at 10 a.m. Saturday

REARDAN — The 119th edition of Mule Days will begin Friday, June 2 and will conclude with a community church service on Sunday, June 4. The event, founded in 1904, was originally a day of family fun and community fellowship.

It is now that, and a lot more. Besides offering activities everyone can enjoy, the event raises funds for community projects.

Mule Days will kick off Friday at 8 p.m. with a teen dance at the Reardan High School commons.

For those who are not teenagers, the fun really begins the following morning, Saturday, June 3 at 9:30 a.m. when the town children dress up, decorate their bikes and have their own Kiddie Parade.

The Main Parade will begin at 10 a.m. and will feature grand marshals Kalae Chock and Sam Adams from KHQ, and Miss Reardan-Edwall royalty Kerstin Lundgren and Anne-Marie Bolyard.

At the conclusion of the parade, vendors will sell their wares in the park.

Chuck Wagon Row opens in the park at 11 a.m.

Also at 11a.m. the 3-on-3 basketball tournament begins, and attending royalty will be introduced at the park pavilion.

A barbeque luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the Community Hall. The cost is $12 for a plate.

The Corn Hole Tournament will start at 1 p.m. on the corner of Spokane Avenue and Lake Street.

The Poker Ride will take place at the baseball field east of town.

At 3 p.m. the Beer Garden opens at the Speed Trap Tap House and the band Sunset Highway will play from 3-7 p.m. The Moops take over at 8 p.m. and play until midnight.
