George Martin Rodeck, 92, of Odessa, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2023. George was born on Nov. 30, 1930 in Irby, Wash. on a homesteaded ranch and grew up in Odessa. He served in the Navy during the Korean War and went on to graduate from Bentley University and began a life-long career as an accountant, accounts manager and tax professional in Mass.

He married Joan (Lally) Rodeck of Boston, Mass., on Dec. 26, 1954. They settled in Braintree, Mass. where they raised 8 children. While raising his children George was active in the Braintree Schools Parent-Teacher Association, was involved in various sports organizations concerning children's sports, various Lutheran churches, and neighborhood improvement organizations.

George enjoyed square dancing and clogging, he was very good at both. He would travel to various events to participate in this activity and even square danced on a float in the Rose Bowl parade. George also was an accomplished carpenter, electrician, and all-around handyman. He bought numerous houses and fixed them up. He would often assist his family and friends with home and auto repairs. George taught himself how to play the harmonica and enjoyed performing for others. George also enjoyed hiking when he found time in his busy schedule.

Rodeck (deceased), Mathew W. (Dawn)Rodeck of Satsuma, Fla., Janet E. Rodeck of Weymouth, Mass., and Christopher K. Rodeck of Weymouth, Mass. He is predeceased by his siblings Conrad, Fred, Paul, Jacob, Augusta, Diana, Janaline, and Georgina.

Dear Grandfather to Barry Thomas (Jessica) Gaffey II of Stoughton, Mass., Matthew (Petya)Gaffey of Dorchester, Mass., Danielle Rodeck of Quincy, Mass., Stephen Rodeck of Quincy, Mass., Patrick (Amanda)Hession of Barnesville, Ohio, Sean Hession of Braintree, Mass., Margaret Hession of Fayetteville, N.C., Joan Marie Paige Rodeck of Chicago, Ill., Christian (Christina) Rodeck of Hemsbach, DEU, August (Heather) Rodeck of Jacksonville, Fla., and Alexis (Mariano) Villanueva-Cruz of Orange Park, Fla. George is also survived by 6 Great Grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and friends that will miss him dearly.

Friends and relatives will be respectfully invited to a memorial service that will be held in Odessa, WA this fall via an announcement in the Odessa Record. George will be interred at the foot of his Father's grave site in the Odessa Town Cemetery later this year.
