It's rodeo weekend

Cowboys and cowgirls to compete at Arena

DAVENPORT-One of the most popular events in Lincoln County arrives to the Fairgrounds this weekend: The annual Lincoln County Rodeo, which starts at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25 and continues at the same time Saturday, Aug. 26.

Friday night is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Night, and attendees are asked to wear purple.

The pre-rodeo activities begin at 6:30 p.m. with mutton busting. Competitors that signed up include:

Hesston Stanford, Joanna Roberts, Ryder Vargas, Beth Vargas, Skyler Vargas, Brayden Parker, Joey Moehrle, Jayda Moehrle.

After the grand entry, including the presentation of flags, invocation and introduction of 2023 Fair and Rodeo Queen Dakota Hansen, the festivities start with mixed bronc riding, featuring: Joe Porter (bare back), Duke Hanson (bare back), Dustin Hennigs (saddle bronc), Tristan Newman (ranch bronc), Jim Townsend (ranch bronc), Dylan Garrison (ranch bronc).
