Jail superintendent departs LCSO

Hendrickson takes job in Nespelem

DAVENPORT — The longtime jail superintendent with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office has taken another job. Lyle Hendrickson handed in his keys and uniform Saturday, Jan. 13 after accepting a job with the Colville Tribal Police in Nespelem.

Hendrickson, a Davenport native, was with the county for 21 years, including nearly 13 years as jail superintendent.

“As far as my departure, it was amicable for both of us,” Hendrickson said. “Just time for a change, and the CCT was the answer.”

Hendrickson said he will miss his colleagues and fellow law enforcement employees at the Sheriff’s Office.

“You work at a place long enough, they become your family,” Hendrickson said. “And there are times we spent more time together than we did with our families. We have laughed, cried, bled and sweated together.”

He also said he enjoyed getting to know jail inmates and learning their backgrounds.

“I like to think that I have played some sort of role in their stories, hopefully for the better,” he said.

Hendrickson said he will still live in Davenport and commute to Nespelem for his new job.

Sheriff Gabe Gants said he’ll be replaced by Scott Blomgren, a 23-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office who lives in Spokane.
