Judgement totaling $8,841 was granted to Minnie Whitmore Reiger of Pomeroy from C.E. Moore and J.J. Tierney of Harrington after Reiger alleged she purchased a number of shares of stock in Moore and Tierney’s Blazeout company that were worthless.

Lincoln County Pioneer Josephine Ditmar and her son Frank Ditmar were found guilty by a jury of manufacturing liquor with intent to sell after deputies found a gallon of liquor at the Ditmar farm near Reardan.

75 years ago

Virgil Johnson of Davenport was presented a Philco console radio-phonograph for winning first prize in the “I Speak for Democracy” oratorical contest.

The cost of government landed in the laps of Lincoln County taxpayers as the Treasurer’s office mailed out property tax statements expected to gather $977,870.15 in 5,000 statements.

50 years ago

Davenport High School matmen ended the regular wrestling season with a perfect 10-0 record over Republic, Liberty and Odessa.

The newspaper advocated for vocational classes in local schools, devoting several pages of the paper to stories and commentary regarding such classes.

25 years ago

Four suspects were apprehended after local authorities responded to a report of a burglary in progress at the old Titan Missile base north of Reardan.

Dan Eller, Kyle Taylor, Tysen Titchenal, Russell Wynne, Leo Rohner and Simon Butterfield of Reardan and Issam Samman of Davenport advance to the state Mat Classic wrestling tournament.

Several open range parcels in the Egypt area north of Davenport became stock-restricted after a ruling from the Lincoln County Commissioners.

Warming temperatures and accompanying high water hit Edwall, where residents agreed flooding was the worst experienced in several years.

Daniel Thompson of Reardan was arrested on suspicion of burglary after stolen property was allegedly discovered at his residence.
