• Directors and officers of the Lincoln-Adams County Pioneer and Historical society met at Sprague and formulated plans for the annual pioneer picnic on Crab Creek.

• Plans for a new Presbyterian Church to replace the building destroyed by fire four months prior were discussed in Davenport.

75 years ago

• Robert Gunning was picked as new commander of the Jim M. Gale Veterans of Foreign Wars post No. 7080.

• About 100 people attended the annual stockholders meeting of Lincoln Mutual No. 2 in Reardan.

50 years ago

• The City of Davenport tested a new 2-way radio system that allowed City Hall employees to communicate with local crewmen.

• Sandy Bell, Laurie Scott, Yvonne (Sissy) Heimbigner and Kathy Wilcox were named finalists for the Miss Harrington title.

• Janis Carstens, Carolyn Hicks, Judith Likarish, Debbie Benning, Kathy Goucher and Mary Ann Rettkowski were named finalists for the Miss Reardan title.

25 years ago

Harrington High School business education teacher Patti Aune was named Teacher of the Month by Eastern Washington University.

• Ryan Floyd of Harrington saw action in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament as part of the Gonzaga men’s basketball team.

10 years ago

• Ryan J. Bereton of Spokane Valley was arrested for eluding after leaving the scene of a traffic stop for reckless driving in east Davenport and forcing local deputies to pursue his vehicle to Rocklyn Road.

• Sherman Johnson was named Citizen of the Year by the Reardan Lions Club.
