County Commissioners set to discuss property taxes

Departmental updates also to be discussed

DAVENPORT — Property taxes, broadband expansion and infrastructure updates are among the issues on the agenda for the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners meeting set for Monday, Dec. 2, at the Lincoln County Courthouse.

According to the posted and approved agenda, the meeting will begin with reviewing and approving vouchers, followed by consent agenda items.

Two public hearings are scheduled early in the day: one to address property tax revenues and set the 2025 property tax levies, and another to finalize the county’s budget and review the six-year Capital Facilities Plan.

At 9 a.m., Keith Nelson, Director of the Information Systems Department, will provide an update, followed by Margie Hall, Broadband Director, at 9:15 a.m., who will brief the board on broadband initiatives.

Courtney Thompson, county planner, will deliver a Land Services update at 9:30 a.m., and Fair Secretary Dawn Canfield will discuss the indoor arena contract at 9:45 a.m.

Another public hearing, scheduled for 10 a.m., will review the six-year Transportation Improvement Plan.

Public Works Director David Orvis and Road Operations Manager Dave Sanford will present updates on public works projects at 10:30 a.m.

The commissioners will conclude the morning session with committee reports and discussions of unfinished business before adjourning for lunch at noon.

Public comment is encouraged, though the board may limit individuals not listed on the agenda to three minutes at its discretion.

Those wishing to comment are advised to contact the commissioners’ office by noon on Wednesday, November 27, to secure an appointment or submit written remarks.
