Almira girl wins scholastic award
Almira-Coulee-Heartline teen Elle Schwartz performs during the Distinguished Young Women Program.
PULLMAN - Another year of seven young women being their best selves and forming friendships ended with a 2026 Distinguished Young Women named.
During the Saturday, July 26 program this year's title went to Yutong Liang, of Ellensburg.
Coming in as runner-up was Isabella Huntley, of Colfax.
Liang received a $4,000 schoalrship and a scholarship from WSU. She received $250 awards in the Fitness, Talent and Self Expression judging categories. Liang also received the $500 Overall Scholarship Award and a $300 Spirit Award selected by the other young women who participated.
