Smoke from forest fires was so dense that it obscured the sun at Odessa, many miles in every direction from the scenes of the different blazes, for several days the first of the week.

10 head of cattle belonging to G. G. McMath, Spokane River rancher, died last week after eating a weed later identified by Washington State College as poison parsnip.

Plans for 10 miles of grading and surfacing on State road number 22 from Inkster lake to Detillion bridge in Lincoln County north of Davenport have been completed by the State Highway Department.
