Legacy continues in Jenkins family

DAVENPORT - A local family's legacy will remain in City Hall after a vacant Davenport City Council seat was handed to the late councilmember's son during the council's meeting Wednesday, Aug. 13.
Cody Jenkins, 21, of Davenport, will serve the remainder of his father Robert Jenkins' term. Robert Jenkins, who served on the council, died June 12.
"It is one of those things where I was mentally prepared until it happened and then it becomes reality," Cody said. "It was a little overwhelming, but I am glad to do it. I am just glad I get to finish out my dad's term."
