Fred Doolittle, state highway engineer, reports that Albert Smith, Spokane contractor, is about halfway through with his contract surfacing the North Central highway between Davenport and Harrington. The road is in better shape but a good rain couldn’t hurt.

Sheriff Gilpatrick was called to Wilbur to investigate wheat thefts in the area. Fourteen sacks of wheat were stolen from Ed Gieb. Other farmers in the area had sacks stolen as well.
