REARDAN - The Newport Grizzlies and the Screaming Eagles, both looking for their first NE2B girls soccer victory, faced off on Tuesday, Sept. 30. The game ended with 7:00 remaining after Newport junior Joelle Brandnter sustained a serious injury. At the time the game was called, the score was tied 3-3.
The Screaming Eagles jumped to a 2-0 lead early in the first half on two goals from Chasyn Waters.
The Grizzlies countered with two goals from Joelle Brandnter and then took a 3-2 lead on a score from eighth grader Delaney Brandtner.
