REARDAN — A Spokane man’s rape trial was delayed after his defense cited DNA lab issues.
William Zackary Carroll, 33, appeared in Lincoln County Superior Court Tuesday, Oct. 21, for a readiness hearing. His public defender, Dave Hearrean, requested a one-week continuance, citing slow lab processing, while the trial remains scheduled for Nov. 19. The readiness hearing was continued to Tuesday, Oct. 28.
Both Hearrean and Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Bruce Cox said they expect the trial to last at most two days.
Carroll is accused of two counts of first-degree rape in an incident in Reardan. Court...
