Rest area check finds nothing

SPRAGUE — Deputies and Sprague Fire crews checked the rest areas on Interstate 90 after a report of what appeared to be discolored feet under a locked female bathroom stall door March 26.

Shelby Madison Mitchell of Soap Lake and Kaia Nakota Spring of Lakewood told dispatchers they said hello but received no response and feared the person might be deceased or overdosing, an incident report shows. The women left the scene and called the non-emergency line about 9:10 p.m.

Deputy Blake Martin and fire crews cleared all stalls in both rest areas and found no one inside.
