Challenge prompts alert

WILBUR —Some Wilbur High school students were hospitalized and others disciplined after attempting a social media challenge involving large doses of Benadryl on April 15.

According to Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, school Superintendent Teresa Marie Chrisman reported the incident. Participants were suspended, their parents notified and affected students taken to a hospital by their families, the report said.

Chrisman said the students were disciplined internally and that the school did not need a law enforcement response. She simply wanted authorities to be aware of the trend.
