DAVENPORT - Lincoln County commissioners on Monday, May 18, approved hiring a new road operator for the Odessa district and moved forward on several public works projects.
Public Works Director David Orvis told the board that a longtime Odessa employee is retiring effective June 30 after shoulder surgery and an upcoming knee replacement.
"I am asking for your permission to hire another operator because Odessa can't run with three people," Orvis said.
Orvis said the position will first be posted internally.
