Broadband expansion faces hurdles

DAVENPORT — Broadband expansion projects are nearing completion, but delays in materials, engineering and state approvals are slowing final steps and raising questions about leftover funds.

County broadband project manager Margie Hall provided an update on Phases 2, 3 and 4 of the expansion during a county commission meeting Monday, June 1.

Phase 2, the Northridge development outside Davenport, will begin in two weeks, she said, noting all property owners are on board.
