DAVENPORT — Lincoln County Public Hospital District No. 3 (Davenport) has launched a new seven-day-a-week hospitalist program to provide physician coverage for patients who require admission.
The district oversees Lincoln Hospital and its clinics.
Lincoln Hospital CEO Tyson Lacy said the change moves away from the traditional model where emergency room and clinic physicians also covered inpatient care. He said increasing complexity in medicine has made that approach unsustainable.
