Reardan medical clinic nears completion

REARDAN - A new medical clinic is taking shape and is expected to open this fall, replacing an aging manufactured building that no longer meets the needs of the growing community.

Lincoln Hospital CEO Tyson Lacy said the current clinic is outdated, noting it is a mid-2000s manufactured building purchased used from Colville.

The clinic has small, cramped rooms, inefficient workflows and thin walls that limit patient privacy, he said.

"We're looking to upgrade and invest in a physical building that will last another 40-50 years," Lacy said.

The new clinic is being constructed on the same site.

Once complete, the old building will be removed by the contractor as part of the project. Once removed, more parking will be added.

The public bid for construction came in at $1.775 million, with the total project cost expected to land between $2.3 million and $2.5 million when soft costs such as architecture and engineering are included.

Lacy said the new building will offer primary care services, similar to what is currently provided. However, the building will roughly double the current capacity, giving the district room to expand services in the future.

The project is on track for completion by the end of October, he said.

Opening is planned for late September or early October.

"We're looking forward to serving Reardan and being the first building people see when they come into town," Lacy said. "We want to put our best foot forward and provide high-quality medical care while positioning ourselves to expand services to the surrounding area."

The clinic will be managed by Lincoln Hospital, under the auspices of Lincoln County Public Hospital District No. 3 (Davenport),
