Deer causes vehicle fire

SPRAGUE — A vehicle struck a deer and caught fire on Harrington Tokio Road on Monday, July 20.

According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Jack Strand of Vancouver was southbound in a 2022 Subaru Forester near Larmer Road when a deer jumped in front of him.

His car struck the deer and the collision ignited a fire, records show. Fire crews responded and cleared the roadway.

Strand was not injured, records show....
