A state Department of Transportation map shows proposed Complete Streets changes along State Highways 21 and 28 through Odessa, including a lower speed limit, crosswalk markings, bulb-outs and elimination of parking spaces.
ODESSA - Local residents have offered mixed feedback changes being proposed for the downtown area while town officials say they still lack detailed information.
The town is seeking grant funds through the state Complete Streets program. But those funds come with strings attached and require "bulbouts," raised crosswalks, and a loss of parking downtown.
Should the project go forward, changes are proposed for the state Highways 21 and 28 area downtown.
The state solicited comments on the project through surveys and local meetings; 57 responses were received, reflecting a range of views.
