Weather blamed for low attendance
DAVENPORT - The inaugural Tail Feathers and Wheels car show and fly-in drew a fraction of the crowd organizers hoped Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 29 and 30, at Davenport Municipal Airport.
Organizers Lydia Vlk, 50, and Mark Vlk, 62, both of Odessa, said they expected 100 to 150 cars.
Only about 35 showed up Saturday and 50 Sunday. They counted about 30 spectators the first day and about 50 the second.
Saturday's lineup included three airplanes, one helicopter and the couple's classic car. Sunday had two airplanes, one helicopter and three classic cars.
