County eligible for grant for preservation
DAVENPORT — Lincoln County is in line for $802,500 in state historic-preservation money to repair the courthouse exterior, if the 2027-29 capital budget funds the program.
The state Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation told Lincoln County Commissioner Rob Coffman in a Sept. 1 letter that the Historic County Courthouse Grant Rehabilitation Program steering committee is recommending the award.
The county would have to provide a $267,500 match.
The money would go toward portico work, masonry, a new roof and gutter and fascia repairs at the courthouse at 450 Logan St.
