Washout to require more pipe

REARDAN — Repairing a washout under a city sidewalk will likely take more pipe replacement than first thought, the Town Council heard Thursday, Sept. 3.

Public Works Director Tony DeSautel said a patch failed after water settled and washed out the area.

“Just looking at that pipe … we’re in trouble,” DeSautel said. “I thought we were going to have to go all the way down to the highway.”...
