The Titan girls traveled to Wellpinit for a match on Friday, September 7, coming home with a win and final score of 3-0. The match scores were 25-23, 25-18 and 25-16. Piano Lessons Heather Safe has begun the fall session of piano lessons at the Harrington Opera House with her returning students, as well as teaching three students at Christian Heritage School. She has room for possibly three more students in Harrington. In previous years, children have had arts and crafts available in the Art Room. Quickly and prior to the fall season of music lessons, former Mayor Paul Gilliland had a private moving company from Spokane transport his Yamaha M2-G Italian Provincial piano made of American walnut from his home in Spokane to the Art Room of the Harrington Opera House building. On August 18, 2016, LuVerna passed into the loving arms of her Lord Jesus Christ, where she also experienced a glorious reunion with family that has passed before her. She was 96 years old. Born September 23, 1919, in Odessa, LuVerna was the only daughter born to Fred and Lucy (Diefe) Weishaar. She graduated from Marlin High School and married her high school sweetheart, Clarence “Bud” Buddrius on December 18, 1938. Bud and LuVerna raised two children, DeWane and Lonna in Harrington. Stolp visitors Dick and Bev Larson of Yakima came to city hall July 26, looking for information about the town. It didn’t take long for Ed Haugan to arrive to take them on a tour of the refurbished Harrington Opera House in the Bank Block of 1904. They were pleased to have been able to see it all. Harrington Nazarene Installation On July 17, Randy Craker, district pastor, installed Pastor Cade Clarke and his wife in a “Service of Covenant and Commitment.” Noteworthy were commitments made by Pastor Cade which included, “I will establish my ministry upon the Bible as the Word of God. The Odessa area wheat crop is now being harvested and delivered to the town's two grain cooperatives. The Odessa Trading Company (a division of Ritzville Warehouse) received an initial load of club wheat on July 1 in the Batum area southwest of Odessa, according to marketing manager Mark Cronrath.
