April The Stumpjumpers returned to Odessa for the White Knuckle and Frostbite events, which were held south of town near the Odessa Industrial Park. Jantz died September 10 of this year at his home near Odessa at the age of 83. He was a lifelong resident of the Odessa and Harrington areas. Based on the numbers, Christmas Fest 2011 was even more successful than last year’s event. A total of 275 people signed in at the door to be eligible for the 32 available door prizes (see box for winners’ names). Names of winners were drawn throughout the day. The Odessa-Harrington Titans girls basketball team opened the season with games against the Davenport Gorillas and Lind/Ritzville-Sprague Broncos. Despite losing both games to the larger schools, there were a lot of positive signs that the team is on the right track.
