His smile was so contagious, it matched his slim physique. He often wore a red beret, his body healthy and so sleek. A shirt was excess baggage, what a character, this Walt! An enthusiastic human, never quick to point out fault. He surely dwarfed Goliath, a giant of a man was he! His heart was made of pure gold, he was gentle as could be. He was a health food --- nut, he ate no fatty pork or veal, He loved his fruit and veggies, peanut butter, and oatmeal. Yet --- he really had a --- sweet tooth, but this you already know,...

I have way more ideas than I have energy or know-how to bring to fruition. I have ideas for quilts. I have ideas for redecorating the house. I have ideas for how to gain control of the garden. And I have lots of ideas for the “betterment” of Odessa. Not that Odessa needs “betterment” – it’s a lovely community. Odessa has held up to the decline of rural America much better than many other communities. But I don’t think we can afford to rest on our laurels, and I think about i...

The happy occasion was reported in The Odessa Record in its issue of August 26, 1910: The long-felt want has at last been filled in Odessa. Hi, Odessa Record, Here's another epistle, which is "Aged" for printing, should you desire. So many do not realize how wealthy they are, living in this blessed country, even though they consider themselves poor. Yes, even those who receive welfare and food stamps are filthy rich compared to the billions who live in other parts of the world and live in cardboard and rusted out corrugated sheet metal one room shanties and who have to cook their meals over an open fire on the ground. Yes --- America is truly "The Promised Land"...
