    The Odessa Chamber of Commerce met August 9 to discuss preparations for this year’s Fest. Themes for the next few years leading up to the 50th anniversary of the festival have been selected by the Chamber’s marketing committee. This year’s theme is “Adventures in Wunderland” to conform to the theme of the decorations selected for the Odessa float.     While on a trip to Butte, Mont., retired Odessa High School teacher and coach Ken Scherr was inducted to the Coaches Hall of Fame in the "Coaches Corner" of the Sports Bar and Grill in the Metals Bank. This award is presented to former Butte graduates who have gone on to become successful coaches at the high school and college levels.     Sunday, August 9, saw thunderclouds roll through the Odessa area, as lightning strikes produced wildfires. The fires burned mostly sage brush and bunchgrass pasture land but also threatened several homes in and around the former town of Irby.     Members of the Jacob Kallenberger family gathered together July 15-17, 2016 in Havre, Mont. These reunions started in 1989 and are held every three years. The 2016 gathering was held in Havre with approximately 52 family members present. Three fun days were filled with sightseeing, visiting and good food.
