Dog licenses are required by an ordinance of the Town of Odessa. Each license is good for one year and is renewal each January. The purpose of the licensing fee is to help cover the cost of finding lost dogs or corraling loose dogs and returning them to their owners. The kennel for stray animals that belongs to the town has fallen into disrepair, and efforts to replace it are currently at a standstill. On Thursday February 25, Odessa Memorial Healthcare Center will participate, along with Region 9 Healthcare Coalition members, in training of local staff members in how to respond in the event of a disaster. In September 1952, he joined the U.S. Army and served in the Korean Conflict before being honorably discharged as a corporal in August of 1954. I am writing to tell you why I am no longer working in Odessa. I have developed a serious, but not fatal, medical condition that prevents me from working long shifts, which are required in Odessa. The Odessa Community Closet started in January 2014 as a ministry of Zion-Emmanuel Lutheran Church. The goal of the Closet was to help provide gently used clothing and shoes, free of charge, to people in Odessa and the surrounding community. Members of the Odessa community donate clothing, which volunteers sort and organize.
