Recently I had to make a decision that I didn’t want to make. I knew the decision to never have a school-sponsored bonfire again would be very unpopular. Previously, our insurance company warned schools about this type of event, which has a very high risk for injury and property damage. To the Editor: Around three years ago, T-Mobile received a little more than $19 million in Federal FCC grant money to build multiple towers around the United States. More to the point, they received approximately $3.3 million to build five 300-foot-tall telecommunications towers in Lincoln County. The purpose of the FCC grant was to increase cell phone reception in rural areas. On Monday, October 6, missionaries Michael and Beth Ritzman will be visiting Odessa. Both are originally from western Washington. The Ritzmans will soon be serving as missionaries in Papua New Guinea. Currently, they reside in Fort Wayne, Indiana with their five children. Children in grades Kindergarten through fifth are part of a school program in which classroom teachers reward them for good behavior by putting names in a container.
