INCIDENT LOG

Editor's note: Most items in this section reflect the starting point for response by local police and emergency agencies. The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office does not release names of individuals who report possible criminal or suspicious activities to dispatchers or alleged victims for this column.

Monday, Sept. 15: A collision involving a truck and deer occurred on Tokio Road between Jantz Road and SR 21.

A Reardan woman reported receiving a scam phone call advising that her computer was about to crash and she should turn it on and give out information, which she refused to do.

A man reported trespassers on property adjacent to Kaputa Road, about a half mile east of Duck Lake Road.

A Jeep collided with a guardrail on U.S. 2 at its intersection with SR 174 just outside Wilbur. Local ambulance personnel transported the driver to Lincoln Hospital in Davenport.

Two vehicles collided at the intersection of Third and Ross streets in Davenport. No injuries were reported.

Odessa firefighters and ambulance personnel responded to a two-vehicle collision on SR 28. At least one person was transported to the Odessa hospital.

Damage was reported to a garage door and inside a rental house in the 34900 block of Cottonwood Creek Road near Davenport.

A Davenport woman reported she was the target of recent telephone harassment.

Tuesday, Sept. 16: Ambulance personnel and EMTs responded to an Edwall residence to assist a 39-year-old man experiencing stomach pain and shortness of breath.

A collision involving a deputy's patrol car and a deer was reported on SR 21. No damage occurred to the vehicle.

Two men were arrested after a Spokane recycling firm told dispatchers about a pickup truck load of wire that had arrived.

A caller reported his billfold was taken from his truck parked outside the Davenport Subway restaurant.

Signs of a break-in were observed at a shop and nearby residence in the 2600 block of U.S. 2 in Almira.

Deputies investigated an incident involving a Davenport woman who was contacted by the state Department of Social and Health Services about possible fraud.

The owner of property north of Wilbur asked for assistance with possible false or misleading statements made in connection with adjacent property where construction of a cell phone tower is being considered.

A man was observed walking down Morgan Street in Davenport dressed only in his underwear and flip-flop footwear. He also appeared to have his pants draped over his head as a sunshade.

Six cattle were in the middle of Miles Creston Road about a mile from Welch Creek.

A Davenport woman found a jar containing marijuana in an alley behind the 700 block of First Street.

A railroad crossing signal malfunctioned on Mondovi Road.

Wednesday, Sept. 17: A possible break-in was reported at a residence in the vicinity of Ninth and Marshall streets in Davenport.

Deputies issued a citation to a Davenport man after finding marijuana in full view for the third time in the 800 block of Park Street.

A Davenport caller described a phone call from someone claiming to be with the Internal Revenue Service, warning that "they were coming after him."

A caller phoned in her concern about a Davenport woman suffering from depression who had made recent comments about hurting herself.

A caller told dispatchers that six to eight horses had run through a freshly seeded field near Tebow and Duck Lake roads, causing damage.

Deputies worked city code violations in the 800 block of Logan Street in Davenport.

Thursday, Sept. 18: Advised by Stevens County authorities that she may be in Lincoln County, deputies located an 87-year-old woman suffering from dementia in a vehicle on U.S. 2 between Davenport and Reardan that had run out of fuel. Her husband was notified and later picked her up at the sheriff's office.

A citation is expected to be issued in the matter of two small dogs running loose in the 1100 block of Ninth Street in Davenport. A caller advised the dogs had chased her cats.

Responding to the 500 block of Third Street, Davenport ambulance personnel assisted a 52-year-old man possibly suffering from diabetic shock.

A deputy came to the rescue of an injured dog that was wrapped up in its leash outside a residence in the 900 block of Seventh Street in Davenport.

About 25 radiators were reported stolen from the yard at American Truck and Auto on Moos Road in the Edwall area.

A dispute involving three Sprague residents about dogs chasing horses boiled over into a Sprague City Council meeting.

Deputies investigated a possible harassment incident involving a Creston woman.

Deputies worked a city code violation in the 200 block of Eighth Street in Davenport.

Friday, Sept. 19: A picnic table was reported stolen from Harrington's city park.

A caller reported hearing gunshots in the vicinity of Teel Hill and Hart roads north of Davenport.

No injuries were reported as a result of a two-vehicle collision on Morgan Street near Katz Realty in Davenport.

One person was transported to Lincoln Hospital in Davenport after being injured in a one-vehicle rollover collision on U.S. 2.

A citation is expected to be issued in the matter of a loose dog in the vicinity of Eighth and Marshall streets in Davenport.

A British Columbia man reported losing a camera after leaving the Cowboy Café in Davenport while on a motorcycle trip. A check of the parking lot revealed nothing.

A Hawk Creek Ranch Road property owner reported a gate was damaged by someone who was in the area without his permission.

A Davenport man told dispatchers someone phoned him in an attempt to get personal information.

An Almira woman reported being verbally abused in a domestic situation.

Sprague ambulance personnel assisted a motorcycle operator who was involved in a wreck on SR 231. The woman told responding deputies she had swerved to avoid a collision with a deer.

Wilbur Police investigated a report that someone was selling fake insurance cards.

Odessa Police responded to a man's report that someone punched and broke the mirror on his truck in the 10 block of East 1st Avenue.

Odessa Police were told of a Deutsches Fest vendor who made threats against two kids he believes stole a toy from his table.

Saturday, Sept. 20: Wilbur ambulance personnel assisted a 67-year-old woman suffering possible seizures in the 500 block of SW Armstrong.

The property owner will have to repair a fence after a horse got loose in the Fitness Lane area of Davenport.

Ambulance personnel from Wilbur and Creston provided assistance after a semi-truck carrying apples was involved in a rollover collision on U.S. 2 near Scheibner Road.

Three deputies responded to reports of a heated argument involving residents in the 100 block of South 1st Street in Creston. Initial information included the possibility that a shot had been fired. After speaking with several individuals, the deputy determined the report was unfounded.

Dispatchers were advised of a possible harassment incident involving a resident of the Mill Canyon area.

Responding deputies determined a dispute between a man and woman in the vicinity of Tenth and Adams streets in Davenport was verbal only.

A deputy investigating a possible break-in at a residence on Estate Road in the Sprague area found only an open screen door with minor damage.

Harrington ambulance personnel assisted an individual who was sprayed in the eyes with bear spray after being discovered on the roof of a residence in the 400 block of West Glover.

A caller reported a man outside her Deer Heights Drive home in Deer Meadows "yelling and causing a scene" before driving away in a pickup truck.

An Odessa caller reported an intoxicated man urinated in an alley in the vicinity of the 300 block of South Birch and was approaching her back porch.

Three men were involved in a possible assault incident that apparently began when one kissed a woman on the cheek while all were at the Deutsches Fest beer garden in Odessa.

Sunday, Sept. 21: Creston firefighters extinguished a grass fire apparently started by a trailer traveling on U.S. 2.

A deputy worked city code violations in the 700 block of Marshall Street and the 1100 block of Eighth in Davenport.

Davenport Family Foods personnel reported a child inside a locked, running vehicle.

A deputy checked on the welfare of a Sprague woman whose daughter reported receiving texts containing possibly suicidal messages.

Deputies investigated suspicious Facebook posts involving Davenport residents.

Lincoln Hospital personnel treated a child who suffered a dog bite to the face.

Odessa Police investigated a report from the Deutsches Fest beer garden that a man had assaulted another man he believes is involved with his wife.

Odessa ambulance personnel transported a 93-year-old woman with unspecified ailments from the 200 block of North Division to Odessa Memorial Hospital.

Representatives of a vacuum sales company were advised to secure permits before going door-to-door in Wilbur residential areas.

A transcript of an Aug. 13 Lincoln County District Court judgment awarding $3,186.50 to Credit Service of Central Washington, Inc., from respondents Donald W. and Deborah L. Jacobson was filed Sept. 12 in the Superior Court.

New Criminal Cases

Sharol Lyn Huntley, 53, of Soap Lake, Wash., is charged with possession of methamphetamine, discovered at a Wilbur residence where an automotive chop shop allegedly operated, following a Jan. 24 traffic stop in Reardan involving a vehicle loaded with cut copper wire that was allegedly stolen from property in the Wilbur area. The defendant was a passenger in that vehicle. Deputies also found a truck that had been stolen from Odessa at the Wilbur residence.

Thomas Michael Colwell, 51, Spokane Valley, is charged with first-degree malicious mischief and third-degree theft in connection with the Sept. 10 discovery of wire that had been cut from Avista Utilities poles in the vicinity of Riffe and Bergeron roads near Reardan.
