Amelia Homburg passed away on July 26, 2014 at Manor Care in Spokane, Washington at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Marie, her husband, Jake Homburg, her son, Jake, Jr, a daughter, Rosemary Groves and two brothers, Karl and Reinhold. Ron Frederick died July 8, 2014 at his home in Odessa at the age of 78. Ron was born May 30, 1936 in Odessa to Louis and Alma (Giese) Frederick. He attended school in Odessa until tenth grade, joined the U.S. Army at age 17 and had his 18th birthday in Korea during the Korean War. Nearly 700 Avista Utilities customers in the town of Odessa will experience a power outage on Wednesday, July 23, from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Thursday, July 24. The outage is required to create a safe environment for crews to work while upgrading the substation that serves the town.
