The Floch Memorial Basketball Games, originally scheduled for Tuesday, November 29, at Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake this year, have been postponed until Tuesday, December 13. On that date, the Titans will face the St. John-Endicott Eagles in Moses Lake, with the girls varsity playing at 4 p.m. and the boys varsity at 5:30 p.m. There will be no junior varsity games. Hi, here I am again. “The Schibels” (continued): On 09 April 1919, Henry Schibel married Katherine "Katie" Frick. Katie was age 19, Henry age 22. Katie's parents were Heinrich "Henry" & Anna Margaret Schafer Frick. At the time, the Fricks were living in Adams Co. TS 20N, R31E, Section 2, about 1½ miles north of Moody and almost 2½ miles southwest of the Schibel farm. Hi, here I am again. On the west side of Kagele road, on the west edge of the L-B-D in Lincoln Co. TS 21N, R31E, Section 36 is the Schibel farm. The attachment of the Schibel name to the farm started with Georg Peter before 1911, then Henry, Don and finally Jeff today (2010). Sourdough waffles, there is nothing like them. For years, I had a wonderful sourdough starter that I kept going by using every couple of weeks. Due to not enough waffles, bread and biscuits being made, that starter died. When the latest Hospital Auxiliary cookbook came out I decided to try Pauline Schimke’s sourdough starter recipe. The 2011 State Land Judging Contest was hosted by the Lincoln County Conservation District on November 2 at the Keith and LeAnna Schafer farm on Highway 28 five miles west of Odessa. Deutchesfest weekend brought special visitors to see Great Granny, Mildred Deife.
