The U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency has a portion of its farm loan program funds specifically allocated for minority and women producers, announced Judy Olson, State Executive Director. “While FSA farm loans are available to all qualified applicants, by setting aside funds specifically for minorities and women, it ensures that they will receive a portion of available funds,” said Olson. April The Stumpjumpers returned to Odessa for the White Knuckle and Frostbite events, which were held south of town near the Odessa Industrial Park. Some riders stayed the entire week and others returned the following weekend for the 41st annual Desert 100 endurance race, which has been held west of Odessa every year since 2003. Two months ago, when a contract was signed between the Lincoln County Economic Development Council and the Community Colleges of Spokane to bring a technology seminar to Lincoln County on January 12, several established banquets and meetings were not considered. The Town Marshal’s Office has released pictures captured by the security cameras recently installed at Odessa Drug. The pictures show the two people who broke into the store through its front door in the early morning hours of December 26, taking prescription drugs, then fleeing when they realized that an alarm had sounded. Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones today shared the following information regarding the search for missing Moses Lake area resident Dan Toya, who went missing Friday, December 23. Meeting for the last time in 2011, the Odessa School Board met December 21 and unanimously approved resolutions to run a General Fund Maintenance and Operation Levy on February 14, 2012 for the same $698,000 as the retiring levy it will replace; and at the same time to run a Capital Projects Fund Levy of $110,00 which is also a replacement for the current levy. Christmas night, as folks were winding down from their holiday cheer and food and gifts, the infamous narco-burglars struck for the third time at Odessa Drug, the pharmacy/gift shop owned by Odessa resident Ted Bruya. Cattle Producers of Washington (CPoW) with the aid of a price break from Yoke’s Fresh Markets, purchased 500 pounds of “Product of USA” Lean Ground Beef valued at over $2,000. The beef was delivered to the Moses Lake Food Bank on December 16 by CPoW vice-president Dave Dashiell.
