Residential burglaries on the rise in Lincoln County

According to a press release from Lincoln County Sheriff Wade Magers, Lincoln County has been experiencing an increased number of residential burglaries throughout the county. On December 21, at least two burglaries occurred during daylight hours, one within Davenport city limits and another was reported a short time later in the county northeast of Odessa.

In the past several weeks Adams County has been experiencing a burglary/theft spree in their northern borders to the south of Odessa. Two suspects were recently arrested in connection to some Adams County burglaries, however thefts have continued to occur and Lincoln County residents should be aware and on the look out for any unusual vehicles or individuals.

The Sheriff’s office is investigating the December 21 incidents and have recovered a vehicle believed to be involved in the burglaries. The black Ford power stroke pickup was recovered outside of Odessa on Laney Brothers Road and was found to be stolen out of Moses Lake. Two white males in their early 20s were seen leaving the area in a black compact car. Deputies and crime lab personnel are processing the stolen vehicle for evidence. Anyone with information about these burglaries is asked to contact the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at (509) 725-3501.

Magers adds, “I would remind everyone to be diligent in locking your doors, vehicles, residences, and shops should be secured. Please do not hesitate to contact the Sheriff’s Office if any unusual activity is observed. We depend on accurate and timely reporting to assist us in solving property crimes and related incidents throughout our large county and strongly rely on citizens’ eyes and ears to report unusual activities. Together we can collectively bring these crimes to a resolution”.
