Evan Gonzales, a seventh grader in Harrington, plays junior high basketball for the Titans. Coaches Oestrich and Linstrom named him athlete of the week, because even though this was his first year playing basketball, he showed tremendous improvement in his skills and his attitude. Odessa's Knowledge Bowl Team qualified for statewide competition on Friday, February 28. Eleven B1 schools competed for the top five spots to represent Educational Services District (ESD) 101 area along with 4A, 3A, 2A, and 2B schools. Jacob DeWulf is the son of Mark and Peggy DeWulf and a senior at Odessa High School and plays on the Titans high school boys basketball team. Coach Schuh chose DeWulf as athlete of the week because he has been a force defensively leading the team in rebounds and blocked shots. His offensive game has improved so much as well and he is averaging about 11 points per game....

The Odessa School Board met January 22, initially in a workshop meeting to discuss policies, then in their regular monthly meeting.
