Lucille E. (Quast) Copeland

Lucille Copeland died June 6, 2012 at her home after a prolonged terminal condition. She was born in Odessa, WA on January 4, 1920. She attended Odessa High School, Kinman Business School, Eastern Washington State College (BA), and Whitworth University (MA). Mrs. Copeland was a teacher with Community College District 17 from 1962 until her retirement in 1987. She served as senior faculty member for a number of years at SFCC in the School of Business. She was a 55-year member of Crestline Baptist Church, Spokane, Wash., where she was the organist for 52 years and named Organist Emeritus in 2010. She is survived by daughters Marilyn Kissler of Sacramento, Cal. and Carol Eng of Spokane, son William Copeland of Spokane, sister Lorraine Earsley of Sacramento, grandchildren Susan Knittle of Texas, Gary Cooper, Craig Cooper, Todd Copeland-Priddy, Erik Copeland, all of Spokane, Mai Li Lee of Bellevue, Kim Eng Youngquist of Issaquah, Carrie Parker of Bend, Ore., and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Gary J. Copeland and by a sister, Irene Hinrichs. Funeral service and interment were held on Saturday, June 16, 2012 in Spokane. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Crestline Baptist Church in Lucille’s name.
