Arrests made in burglary case

A break in the Odessa Drug burglary case, which has been ongoing since last spring, has led to the arrest of two suspects and the search for at least one more.

According to Kelly Watkins of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s office, the department recently received information that, when taken together with the video from the store’s security camera as well as various interviews, creates a “pretty tight case.”

Watkins confirmed that the two men arrested Saturday were Josh Granchie and Jacob Schmidt, both of Odessa. The men were arrested and charged, then released on their own recognizance. The department is continuing to look for one of the two remaining individuals involved, whose names have not been released.

“We were sure happy to get the break in this case,” said Watkins. “It’s been going on for a long time.”

He added that more evidence was collected over the weekend that ties in with the Odessa Drug burglary.
