Stedman facing Stromberger for commissioner, Ramm out

Former Odessa Town Council member Kim C. Ramm narrowly lost her bid to become a Lincoln County Commissioner. In the final vote count taken on Monday, August 20, she trailed Alan Stromberger by only six votes. She had a total of 346 votes for 32.46% of the total.

Stromberger had 352 votes or 33.02% of the total, and Mark Stedman had 368 or 34.52% of the total 1,066 votes. Stromberger and Stedman will face off in the general election in November.

In a separate electoral race, Ramm retained her seat as the Republican Precinct Committee Officer for Odessa.

The other primary election races maintained about the same levels as reported in last week’s article on the election.

Out of the 6,811 registered voters in Lincoln County, only 49.19% or 3,350 of them cast ballots in the August 7 primary election. The election was certified on Tuesday, August 21.

Beginning in January of 2013, Lincoln County joins state legislative District 13. The familiar names of Joel Kretz and Shelley Short will no longer be on Lincoln County ballots. Instead, voters will select Judith Warnick (currently unopposed) for one position and either Kaj Selmann or Matt Mannweller for the second position in the November general election.
