O/H struck first on a 65-yard run by Justin Hunt in the first quarter. Sam Schafer ran the ball for the successful two-point conversion. Another run by Hunt, for 43 yards, followed by a completed pass from Hunt to Carsen Weber for two more brought the score to 16-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Scoring in the second quarter opened with a 35-yard run by Hunt. Two points were added on a pass to Cade Weber from Hunt.

After that, scoring by the Titans was relentless. Hunt completed a 50-yard pass to Cade Weber for the TD, then ran the ball into the end zone for the two-point conversion.

Hunt struck again with a 70-yard run, but this time the extra-point attempt was no good. The final score before half-time came on a 15-yard run by Sam Schafer, but the running play for extra points was no good.

After half-time, Hunt completed a 15-yard pass to Jake Tanke and followed up with a completed pass to Cade Weber for extra points. That was the only score in the third quarter.

Wilbur/Creston finally managed a score on a 3-yard running play by Paul Hillman. The extra point attempt was no good.

Titan head coach Bruce Todd said the Wildcats came out aggressive on their first defensive series, stopping the Titans and forcing them to punt. But from then on it was all Titans, scoring 44 points in the first half. The second half went by quickly with a running clock for the remainder of the half, Todd said.

The Wildcats were a bigger team not only in size but also in number, as the 15-member Titan team used their speed on offense and defense to defeat the Wildcats at W/C’s Homecoming game.

The Titans intercepted the Wildcats’ quarterback three times during the contest and put up a strong defense against the Wildcat offense.

On defense, Hunt had 5 assists, 2 solo tackles and 1 interception. Carsen Weber had 7 assists, 2 solo tackles and 1 interception. Cade Weber had 2 assists, 5 solo tackles and 1 interception. Jacob DeWulf provided 11 assists and 6 solo tackles. Jake Tanke tallied 5 assists and 4 solo tackles. Sam Schafer had 13 assists and 8 solo tackles. Gabe Henneman had 8 assists, 2 solo tackles and 1 fumble recovery. Dakota Largent was in on 2 assists and had 1 solo tackle.

The Titans travel to Coulee City to take on the ACH Warriors on Friday, October 5. This game could well decide the #1 team going into the playoffs and the Southern division league champions.
